Notebook review – Gwenaëlle Trolez – France

It was my first time in Arcachon, a charming seaside town in the southwest of France where I ran into a lovely shop, Bonendroi. A concept store, to be more precise. Among the stylish accessories there, I found a great collection of notebooks by Gwenaëlle Trolez.

How matching to the surroundings is the design of this notebook, don’t you think?

Holding such a lovely notebook in my hands, the point comes, when I am usually very disappointed: when you open it and there is nothing special inside, just blank or lined paper with no charm or even quality, what is the point of such a lovely cover, when its hollow on the inside?

But!

Surprise surprise!

Not this time!

What I found inside, didn’t make me wince with disappointment! Oho no!

You won’t find a blank (or white, for that matter) page in this notebook. Not a single one! Every page has a different design printed in full colour, so sophisticated and original, you just can’t take your eyes off them.

The paper inside is smooth and thick enough even for a fountain pen, I guess? It says 120gsm and definitely feels like that.

The author of illustrations – Gwenaëlle Trolez – is an independent artist and editor. She has put a lot of effort into her works, just look at them, how beautiful they are!
